Hey there!
I was born and raised in Atoka. I went to Harmony Elementary School, and then came to Atoka High School. I graduated in 1987. I am very proud to be a Wampus Cat!!! I recieved my degree in elementary education in 1997 and began my life as a teacher. My first job was at Pine Street Middle School in Texarkana, TX. I then moved to Durant, Ok and accepted the job as the infant/toddler head start director. I really wanted to move back home to raise my kids, so I moved back and taught at Farris Elementary for 4 years. While I was there, I taught first grade, third and fourth combined, and I even coached one year.
In 2004, I made it back to Atoka to teach kindergarten. Also, I decided to go back to college and get my masters degee. In 2008 I left the classroom to become the reading specialist for our school, However, 5 years later, I added K-3 teacher to my job description.
I love what I do! I love to see my students do things that they thought they could never do! I am very proud to be here at Atoka! I love being a Wampus Cat!!
