Dear Middle School Students and Parents,
Beginning on April 6, 2020 and continuing through the end of the 2019-2020 school year, Atoka Public School will start a new journey into distance learning. During this time of social distancing we want to ensure that each of our middle school students continue to have access to high-quality curriculum and assignments. We plan to deliver instruction through a virtual learning environment and we need your support to ensure the success of our efforts. Arrangements for physical hard copies of the assignments will be made available on an as needed basis. Please take a moment to review our plan below and talk with your child about the importance of continuing their education during this time.
Students will receive their core instruction, through a variety of methods, including Google Classroom, Study Island, and other digital means. Students should log in to their email and Google Classroom daily to check for assignments and instructions from their teacher. If a student cannot remember their login credentials, please contact the school for details.
The student assignment completion guide will be as followed:
Monday – Mathematics, Art, Music, Band
Tuesday – Science, STEM, Ag
Wednesday – Language Arts, Foreign Languages
Thursday – Social Studies, Computers, FACS, Tech Ed
Teachers will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on their corresponding subject day, as listed above, to answer questions, review assignments, and offer assistance. You may contact them directly through their email or their work phone number as provided on each teacher’s individual class instructions to the student. Special Education services and teachers will be available each day from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Students who receive a hard copy of the assignment will not return the packet. Teachers will make individual arrangements with each student for completion and grading of assignments.
Student Expectations:
We appreciate all of your support as we go through these unprecedented times. We miss each and every one of you and look forward to the time when we can return to campus. Please direct any further questions to the middle school office at 580-889-6611.
Sincerely,
Wesley Burnett
Principal
