The Atoka High School and McCall Middle School Video Media Class students took a career insight trip to KXII Studios in Sherman, TX on March 25, 2025. Students took a full tour of the broadcast facilities, talked with broadcast journalists, meteorologist, news directors, program directors, control room technicians and the station manager! They also saw the 12:00pm news cast live in person!

McCall Middle School Wins WGI Dallas Percussion Regional: On Saturday, March 22nd, the McCall Middle School Percussion Ensemble attended the WGI Dallas Percussion Regional held at Burleson Centennial HS in Fort Worth, TX. This contest is one of the largest scholastic percussion events in the southwestern part of the country with more than 40 groups attending from 4 different states. McCall MS came in first place in their classification. Atoka Pioneer Club Donates Books to McCall Middle School Library in Honor of LeeAnn Fugate The Atoka Pioneer Club has made a meaningful contribution to the McCall Middle School library by donating a collection of popular fiction and classic literature in honor of LeeAnn Fugate, a beloved former educator. Fugate, who dedicated many years to teaching reading and language arts at Atoka Public Schools, was also a devoted member of the Pioneer Club. “This donation is a wonderful tribute to Mrs. Fugate’s legacy,” said Librarian Dawn Loftis. “Her impact on students was immeasurable, and through these books, her dedication to education will live on.” The Atoka Pioneer Club remains committed to supporting education and literacy in the community. Their generous donation ensures that students at McCall Middle School have access to engaging and enriching literature that will enhance their learning experience. The donation, aimed at fostering a love for reading among students, ensures that Fugate’s passion for literacy continues to inspire young minds for years to come. Atoka FCCLA spent the day at the state capitol advocating the Family and Consumer Sciences program and FCCLA student organization. They were able to speak with Representative Ryan Eaves and discuss with him the impact FCS and FCCLA has had in their lives. FCS and Oklahoma FCCLA are making a difference!
